Yvain Abelard

Yvain Abelard is a man ever on the road. At first, a willing soldier in the war against the Empire, and after a wanderer and an adventurer, ever on the bright path he had chosen for himself.With his old friend Rainer, the Elezen had formed the Farstrider Company and had pretty much taken the reins of it as the moons passed. While the paperwork is always a dull affair, the work itself and the company of his fellows had brought the man much joy and satisfaction. Alas, no good fortune lasts forever, and after a break in trust with Rainer and fellow adventurers with whom Farstrider Company had collaborated for a long while, Yvain went through a period of soul-searching and wandering on his own once more, reaffirming his faith in his chosen path.Farstrider Company remains alive, though diminished, with old faces replaced by new, and nowadays, Yvain sees fresh adventurers from the Guild through basic training and preparation for the wider world beyond. His way of passing on what he himself had received over the years. Tales of old achievements still linger across the taverns of the world, sometimes told by those whom Farstriders had saved and helped.Nowadays the Stride Tavern sits in the See of Ishgard. Yvain had moved it there when he had gotten more involved in the local region's affairs. Since then, the local rumor mill buzzes on occasion with tales of what the vagrant Abelard is doing. His fondness for the City is undeniable, especially more so ever since he had managed to reconcile with his family, most of all, with his Father. Though he is reluctant to speak much of the matters of inheritance, unwilling as he is to heed his family's requests to settle down.Too much of his soul and heart is set on his path of helping others. He is still seen wandering the world often enough, from Eorzea to Far East, with a spear in hand and a smile on his face.
